Shannon is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a thriving practice in Old Town Lafayette, CO. She offers adolescents and adults her expertise in anxiety, life transitions, trauma, grief, and abuse recovery. Unlike traditional talk therapy, Shannon’s unique approach invites clients to tune into both somatic (body) and psychological (mind) experiences, so that they can learn how to work with their internal experience for effective long-term healing. Her training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) allows for practice opportunities in and outside of the therapy room; Shannon teaches clients how to actively cope with difficult sensations, emotions and thoughts through guided practices. With over fifteen years in the human service field, Shannon has helped hundreds of individuals get at the root of their suffering and not only cope, but thrive in spite of life’s misgivings. In working with Shannon, clients will learn how to: have a healthier relationship with anxiety, fear, boundaries, and stress; observe emotions in a curious way; experience feelings safely; and re-story difficult experiences as to move from a place of helplessness to empowerment.
